WSI seeks hard working, motivated, deadline driven individual to develop interactive web sites and web applications. Applicants should have several years’ experience writing custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Expertise writing semantic, modular front end code using HTML5, CSS3, and W3C coding practices are a must. Understanding of the concepts of progressive enhancement, mobile first and future friendly design highly encouraged.

The ideal candidate should be highly adaptive in a rapidly changing environment and be willing and able to learn new technologies as they become necessary. The candidate should have the ability to quickly grasp and distill highly complex matters into clean, understandable solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development of web applications – Follows coding standards, builds appropriate unit tests, integration tests and deployment scripts
  • Communicates continually with management and project teams – Explains progress on the development effort
  • Owns success – Takes responsibility for successful delivery of the solutions
  • Translates designs and style guides provided by the UI/UX team into functional user interfaces, ensuring cross browser compatibility and performance
  • Contributes to continual improvement by suggesting improvements to user interface or new technologies
  • Develop products of the highest quality through strict attention to visual and interaction details
    • Qualifications:

      • Highly skilled at front-end engineering using Object-Oriented JavaScript, various JavaScript libraries and micro frameworks (jQuery, Angular, Prototype, Dojo, Backbone, YUI), HTML and CSS. 
      • You have worked with custom written JavaScript or plugins and think in object notation.
      • You understand cross-browser nuances and tablet viewports.
      • You can consume and create APIs and web services.
      • Experience and knowledge with JavaScript security issues, XSS.
      • Experience with paired programming is a plus
