Another terrific ‘Oshkosh’ for WSI topped by the release of the WSI InFlight Dash 5 systems and WSI’s new role as an EAA sponsor – WSI is now the official weather service of EAA AirVenture.
WSI Pilotbrief Everywhere You Looked!
WSI provided pilot briefing kiosks to the EAA and FAA in order to insure a smooth fly-in. WSI Pilotbrief systems were available for pilots throughout the convention site – in the Temporary FSS, at each of the aircraft show areas, at convention headquarters and the flight operations center. In all, 28 WSI Pilotbrief systems were running continuously, giving thousands of pilots access to the highest quality weather information available.
For the campers and terrestrial set, WSI published a daily three-day forecast in AirVenture Today, the official newspaper of EAA AirVenture. All 700,000 attendees this year knew what to expect from Mother Nature courtesy of WSI.
In addition, WSI’s free weather website for EAA AirVenture (www.wsi.com/fly/wxeaa) was once again a hit – over 15,000 visits with 60,000 plus page views were tallied during the time the site was active. Look for it again next year and at the upcoming AOPA Expo in October: www.wsi.com/fly/wxaopa
Did We Mention the Airplanes?
Airplanes, airplanes everywhere and many with WSI
InFlight installed. We always have the pleasure of meeting
our customers at AirVenture and this year was no exception
as aircraft owners of all types came up to report their
satisfaction of the WSI InFlight system. Sponsorship
aircraft from the AeroShell Team, Tora 101 and the AOPA
Win-A-Twin sweepstakes Comanche were in attendance
as well. (Be sure to register for that number –
that’s a great way to acquire a WSI InFlight system
– with a completely restored Comanche attached!
Although, be prepared to arm wrestle AOPA Editor Tom
Horne for it – we know he is becoming attached.)
WSI InFlight is finding homes in a variety of aircraft
with a number of displays – and pilots are becoming
hooked on the service.
