-- WSI, the leader in aviation weather, recognized by premier avionics trade association --
Andover, MA. - April 14, 2004
WSI Corporation today announced it has been voted the Aircraft
Electronics Association’s Associate Member of the Year.
The Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) awards the Associate
Member of the Year status to a member company that demonstrates
a commitment to the organization, its members and the General
Aviation industry as a whole.
WSI was commended by the AEA general membership and nominating
committee for the active role WSI has taken during the introduction
of WSI InFlight™, the company’s new weather data-link
system. "Since becoming an AEA member just two short
years ago, WSI has supported their dealers by offering product
training, sponsoring educational aviation weather briefing
luncheons at all AEA regional meetings, and providing outstanding
service and support through a fully automated electronic ordering
system" explained AEA President Paula Derks. "Their
participation in association activities and WSI’s innovative
products and services contributed to AEA members naming WSI
the 2004 AEA Associate Member of the Year."
Larry McMenamy, WSI’s VP of Aviation Sales accepted
the award on behalf of WSI at the AEA’s 47th national
convention and award ceremony, held in Las Vegas, NV. “We
are honored to have been chosen as a recipient of this prestigious
award, now prominently displayed in our new Andover, Massachusetts
corporate headquarters. This recognition by the AEA membership
is a testament to our efforts to build and support a first-class
dealer channel for our WSI InFlight product,” stated
McMenamy.
WSI has a long history of leadership in aviation weather
and service innovation, and recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Over the years, WSI has earned the trust of tens of thousands
of pilots. According to Lynne Wilson, Executive VP of WSI’s
Aviation and Marine Business Group, “We joined the AEA
with our introduction of WSI InFlight, recognizing the important
educational and business leadership role the AEA plays in
the general aviation industry. We are thrilled WSI InFlight
has earned the support of a high quality network of dealers
drawn from AEA members. Together, we’ve delivered on
the promise of broadcasting WSI’s high quality mission
critical weather direct to the cockpit, where pilots need
it most.”
