We track lightning all over the world. Even places where there’s no one to see the flash.

The Weather Company monitors and gathers data on a vast number of the estimated 8.6 million lightning strikes that occur globally each day. In conjunction with our partner TOA Systems, the United States Precision Lightning Network delivers data with mean location accuracy of 250 meters or less, and detection efficiency of over 90% throughout the continental U.S. We also utilize the North American Precision Lightning Network to spread this precision detection to the rest of the continent. And with our offering of global data from the World Wide Lightning Location Network, we are able to monitor conditions far and wide – from South America to Australia, the Pacific Ocean to Africa.
