How does WSI InFlight work/How fresh is
the data?
WSI InFlight uses a continuous broadcast method to
deliver aviation weather directly to your avionics
display. The signal is received through the WSI InFlight
satellite receiver and a low-profile antenna mounted
on the aircraft.
The signal is sent via a high-earth orbit allowing WSI InFlight
to provide:
- Complete coverage of the continental United States at any altitude
- including at ground level
- Automatic data refresh rates occurring every 5-minutes
- no request or reply, just turn on your system and start receiving
data
